We provide paediatric occupational therapy services for children ranging from kindergarten to adolescence. Our services focus on developing skills necessary for daily activities, including fine and gross motor skills, emotional regulation, sensory processing, school readiness, and self-care independence.
At this stage, we only provide NDIS-funded services. If your child is an NDIS participant, we can help with assessments, therapy plans, and progress reports to support your child’s goals. If your child is not an NDIS participant, please reach out to discuss other possible pathways for therapy support.
You can make a referral by completing our referral form and emailing it to info@therapynextdoor.com.au or we accept referrals from healthcare professionals, NDIS support coordinators, and teachers. If you're a parent or caregiver, simply fill out the form, providing details about your child's needs and any relevant medical or educational history.
Children may benefit from occupational therapy if they experience difficulties with tasks such as:
Fine and gross motor skills (e.g., handwriting, coordination, balance)
Sensory regulation (e.g., sensitivity to lights, sounds, or textures)
Emotional regulation and social interactions
Daily tasks like dressing, eating, and toileting If you’re concerned about your child’s development in any of these areas, we encourage you to get in touch for a discussion about how we can help.
Therapy sessions are delivered in person, online, or at schools depending on the child's needs and the chosen service delivery method. Please refer to our Services page for more details on how we deliver therapy.
Typically, therapy sessions last between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your child’s needs and attention span. We’ll work with you to determine the most effective session length for your child.
The frequency of sessions varies depending on the child’s needs, goals, and NDIS plan. In general, therapy can range from weekly sessions to monthly check-ins. We will work together with you and any other professionals involved in your child’s care to determine the most suitable plan.
We provide regular progress updates and reports to track your child's progress. After each session, you’ll receive feedback on the strategies being used and how they can be applied at home. We also conduct comprehensive assessments to monitor changes and adjust the therapy plan as needed.
Yes! We strongly encourage parents and caregivers to be involved in sessions. We aim to empower you with the tools, strategies, and knowledge to support your child at home and in everyday situations. Depending on the child’s goals, parents may also be asked to participate in sessions.
We currently provide services through the NDIS funding, meaning that therapy sessions may be covered by your child’s NDIS plan. If you have any questions about how NDIS funding works or if you are unsure about eligibility, please reach out to us. For non-NDIS clients, please contact us for further information about pricing and payment options.
Yes! We offer telehealth sessions for families who may not be able to attend in person or prefer remote therapy. Online sessions follow the same structure as face-to-face sessions, and we can provide the necessary tools and guidance to make them engaging and effective.
Before your child’s first session, we’ll send you a welcome pack with important information about our services and how to get started. During the session, we’ll take time to get to know your child, their strengths, and areas for improvement. If there are any specific goals or concerns you have, please feel free to share them.
We work with children from kindergarten through to teens, providing therapy that supports their development and prepares them for the transition into adulthood. Whether it’s improving school readiness, building fine motor skills, or addressing sensory processing challenges, we’re here to help your child thrive.
